Living Your Yoga: Step on your mat and practice Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward-Facing-Dog Pose). Breathe into your physically tight spots and into your mental agitation. Remember that practice allows resistance to surface so it can fly away.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, the quotes that I’ve been sharing are from Judith Hanson Lasater’s A Year of Living Your Yoga. My mother gave me the book for Christmas and today…is her birthday! Happy birthday mom 🙂
Become a larger container for Spirit.
Living Your Yoga: Recently, a friend recounted to me a situation in which she experienced what she called the “shocking pettiness” of her life. As you practice today, imagine yourself with a bigger heart, and from there bestow your generosity. For example, give away something to a person who needs it, or better yet give your long-overdue forgiveness.
Living Your Yoga: One of my favourite verses of the Yoga Sutra of Patanjali (I:23) can be expressed as Practice the presence of God. Can you find God in the ritual of a forward bend or the softness of an inhalation done with awareness? When you do this, God becomes a practice, not just an idea.
Living Your Yoga: Wholeness is found not only in the special moments of being lost in an exquisite sunset or feeling the perfect balance of stillness in meditation. Every moment of your life can be just as whole if you allow it to be so. Today find the treasure in the most mundane moments. How did it go?
Welcome back to fall everyone! I hope you’ve had a wonderful summer. The good news is that I’ll be starting a new class at Yoga on 7th! That said, I will no longer be teaching Thursday evenings at The Yoga Space. Cheryl Joseph will be taking over that timeslot. If that time works for you I encourage you to continue with Cheryl as she is a wonderful teacher. I will still be teaching my other two classes at The Yoga Space.
My new schedule for the fall is as follows:
I’m offering a very special limited time 2 for 1 deal for my new class at Yoga on 7th. Please contact me for details: [email protected] I hope to see you in class!
